Description

Professional XLP Pickup Transformation

The XLP off-road conversion by Kubay Design transforms a verified Mercedes-Benz W463 donor into a four-door utility pickup with a redesigned rear section, reinforced structure and coordinated exterior styling. The work is completed as a professional workshop project rather than a set of separately fitted accessories.

Customers may choose an original-generation XLP-inspired appearance or a modern exterior package based on the later design. A bespoke cabin upgrade is also available, with materials, colors and equipment selected individually.

Available Exterior Configurations

Original-Generation Pickup Design

This option preserves the original front-end character while adding a custom cargo area, extended panels and stronger visual proportions. It is intended for customers who want a distinctive pickup without replacing the traditional design of the donor vehicle.

  • Four-door pickup configuration
  • Custom rear body and cargo-bed structure
  • Extended exterior panels
  • Reinforcement where required
  • Professional assembly and finishing

Modern Exterior Upgrade

The second option combines the pickup transformation with newer front, side and rear styling. This is a visual update only. The original VIN, chassis identity and registration data remain connected to the donor unless local authorities approve separate changes.

Rear Body and Structural Work

The enclosed rear section is rebuilt into an integrated cargo layout using project-specific panels and supporting elements. Chassis extension or reinforcement is completed when required by the selected configuration and vehicle condition.

Before production, the donor must be inspected for corrosion, previous repairs, structural distortion and undocumented modifications. Cargo-bed dimensions, lining, drainage, payload and tailgate details are agreed during project planning because they are not supplied as one universal specification.

Optional Bespoke Interior

A custom cabin can be ordered separately. Upholstery, stitching, trim, lighting and comfort equipment are selected with the client so the interior complements the completed exterior. Dashboard changes and electronic upgrades require an individual compatibility review.

Compatibility and Donor Review

This project is intended for a confirmed original-generation W463 platform. Earlier vehicles may use W460 or W461 architecture, while newer W463A and W465 models have different dimensions, suspension systems, electronics and mounting locations.

A vehicle fitted with later-style body panels remains based on its original platform. The update does not automatically add the mechanical, safety or electronic systems of a newer factory model.
